When I was 16 years old, I already began to understand that to be hired by somebody is the way to nowhere, but … I decided to make my way in this life myself by not being a cautionary tale.
At 21, I already had a diploma in my hands and the desire to earn money myself.
Although I already had experience of victories in the market field, where I sold chocolate, cigarettes and other rubbish for three years, and this despite the fact that I went to school, then to university and … I wanted to open a restaurant at 24, but…suddenly new tax and trade laws appeared and I had to curtail my business. I really had to close the business, which brought excellent profits. It seemed to me that life was over, but … I’m not the kind of person who gives up so easily.
There are some people who think they can find a magic button called “MONEY”, click on it and they have immediately a cool sports car, a cottage on the seashore and an account in a Swiss bank full of money. However this doesn’t happen. Do you know why? You don’t have any idea that you have to go towards the success step-by-step. It is like a bodybuilder who builds up muscles and soon he has the ideal body. This way you should “pump” yourself in life and business and then success will start following you everywhere!
The 2000s – The most significant decade of my life
Let’s go back to 2001, when I was not very experienced in life, but had already accumulated a sufficient amount of money from my business.
As I told you previously hired labor was not for me and at the same time I realized I could not continue with my business and… I decided to see the world. I call it to “take a deep breath” so that my thoughts took the right direction in life and business.
In 2001, I already graduated from university, but I decided that I will become a student again to have an opportunity to see the world. The only right decision from the many wrong options that were spinning in my head at that moment.
No sooner said than done! In 2001, I went to look around in Germany and was really surprised by that country. At the same time I visited Belgium, Barcelona and the Netherlands and realized that … I need to try to learn from the experience of these European countries in terms of business and in 2003 I entered the university.
I immediately found a part-time job at the factory and at home. A Chinese company began to sell computer parts in large quantities and they needed a person who could speak foreign languages, so they took me without any problems. At the factory, I worked as an ordinary worker who loaded bakery products onto a van at night.
One day I began to realize that I wanted to develop and I decided that it was time to look for a much better job.
At the end of the 6th semester (it was 2006) I was accepted as a junior manager for selling the light equipment in an online store.
The company’s turnover was approximately EUR 20 million, although the company employed only 11 people at that time. My task was to service the call center and answer the hottest (complex customers) calls in three foreign languages. Plus, I handled the return of goods and made sure that everything worked smoothly in the order processing system. It was not so easy, but very interesting at the same time, because I liked to learn the processes of selling goods via the Internet. I knew that I would quit in a year, but my personal goal was to gain knowledge in the field of Internet marketing, and also to understand how the entire web company functions.
Money was not so important to me at times when I went to hired work. My goal was to gain a wide range of experience and apply all this later in my personal business. Why so? Because I always understood that my personal business brings tens and hundreds of times more profit than wage labour.
I began to study all the important details of the company management system, without even thinking about starting a similar business. My task was to learn the negotiation strategy for the purchase of goods, their transportation within the country, marketing tasks, the ability to conduct sales through affiliate programs, telephone conversations, etc.,
I enjoyed visiting web conferences held in Munich and in Cologne knowing that the experience I get will allow me to become successful in my business later.
I worked for this company for one year and then quit myself because I already knew almost all the nuances of the company how it all works. All employees of the company looked at me as an idiot, not understanding what was happening to me, but I had no intention to spend my precious time on this company that was paying me little money although I deserved a much bigger salary.
The experience that I learned while working at this company was useful to me. I learned how to work effectively with affiliate programs, how to communicate right with customers and increase the number of sales in the online store using lots of different marketing chains.
But, before starting something new in life and in business, I believe that everybody needs to have a good rest in order to start new feats with renewed vigor afterwards.
I decided to immediately go to Spain to catch my breath from the working rubble.
The rest turned out to be wonderful, but even on vacation I was thinking about new projects and ideas that filled my head. Well, you probably know, when you lie on the beach after the next swim with a mask and snorkel, you want to not think about anything, but still thoughts about different ideas do not let you relax.
Upon my arrival back to Germany from Spain, where I was no longer a student, I decided to start a dropshipping business. 13 years ago this kind of business was not as popular as it is now, but I wanted to try to sell CDs of popular artists to start with.
I just noticed that many sell whole boxes of collections of their CDs. I always bought a box in bulk, where there were 600-800 CDs, then sorted the discs by categories and genres of music and sold 9-16 discs on eBay.
At the end I had a hundred discs with not very popular artists, I went then to a music store and sold them everything in bulk with little profit for myself.
Then I started ordering wholesale mp3 and mp4 players from China and selling 20-30 pieces daily on eBay.de. The experience that I gained as a manager when selling lamp equipment was very useful to me.
Another six months passed and I started selling T-shirts with popular football names, since football is a very popular sport in Germany and fans literally buy everything they can if they see the value of the goods.
In 2008, Internet marketing was not developed at the level it is developed now, and customer support was very weak, but I understood the secrets of successful sales and I managed to overtake almost all competitors and sell T-shirts at a very high price.
For some T-shirts with very well-known player names, the price for one T-shirt reached 70 euros with a purchase price in China of 2 euros.
At the same time, I was invited as a consultant to one very large company that sold steel to different countries of the world.
This company needed my extensive knowledge and I visited this company for only 3 hours to settle all the marketing processes that were incorrectly configured by the previous manager there. Then the story repeated and after half a year they began to pay less and I again refused to advise this company. Guess what happened next? The company went bankrupt three months later, and then it was sold to new owners.
In 2008-2009, I started selling TV Sets, because I realized that during the crisis there are a lot of unemployed people who are sitting at home and watching TV. This idea was brilliant! Orders went on endlessly and I had to devote a lot of time to this work.
Such receivers were in the top sales at that time.
Of course, I did not forget to relax, visit different countries, meet friends. Most of all I liked to visit Paris and I have been there many times. This city really fills you with its multiple colors and then you can again generate new business ideas.
2010 – 2014 – My dropshipping business
In 2010, I began to expand trade on Ebay and gradually reached a very good level of sales. The sales trend changed every six months and it was necessary to find the very top product that would allow me to earn.
People increasingly became interested in new brands of mobile phones and many brands began to become top sellers.
I bought some goods from China and tested them for sales, and I acquired some products in bulk from other eBay sellers and tried to sell them at least 30 – 35 euros more expensive. You know how fascinating and pleasing it is when you work in front of the computer in the evening, then go to bed, get up in the morning, and your auctions go up in price.
From 2010 to 2013, I sold lots of interesting things, namely cameras, lenses, phones, children’s toys and many others that were quite popular in those years.
In 2014, many realized that Chinese goods were quickly starting to conquer European and US markets and rushed to sell what was popular. Personally, I really liked to sell hoverboards, since in 2014 it was the best-selling product, at least in my business for sure and it brought me a lot of profit.
Everyone wanted to have a hoverboard. The advertisement of this device was on all websites, on the streets, and passers-by themselves advertised this product while riding around the streets everywhere in the summer.
2015-2016: Seriously successful dropshipper
In 2015, Apple started selling more and more smart watches, and I realized that it was time to sell this product in bulk. It was really a total new product category and the market as a whole demanded something new, since people were already fed up with their mobile phones. My iPhones and iPads sales did not fall at the same time, and with each release of a new model of Apple product, they constantly grew and brought me excellent profit.
That same year I became interested in SEO. I wanted to understand how I can increase sales using SEO, how to make sure that I spend less on advertising, but have more visitors from search engines.
I decided to quickly learn everything and start getting 20,000 visitors per month at once, but …. the reality was harsh. It turns out that SEO is the same science as any other and it has a lot of small details that can affect your Google rating. I realized that it was necessary to start all over again and therefore I started by studying the basics.
It turned out that you need to optimize everything inside the site in order to increase page loading, readability, remove duplicate pages and the like. In fact, all the little things affect your ranking in search engines.
Three years ago I did not know all those details, but it was terribly interesting to study and apply all this in my online business. Soon I began to get the first results in the form of sales, I realized that it was time to spend less money on Facebook ads and gradually switch to SEO.
Just in 2016, the first GPS trackers went on sale and I became interested in this product. I quickly found out the purchase prices for the goods and purchased the first batch of goods. The thing is very convenient and necessary to track the movement of various kinds. I was sure that there would be sales.
At the peak of popularity, I was just overwhelmed with sales and had to work from morning to night, but it was worth it. This sales campaign was very profitable for me and my company.
Finally, I realized that I always wanted to build such a sales system, where the leading link would be SEO.
Of course, I didn’t immediately refuse Facebook ads, since SEO is not always suitable for selling expensive goods when you need to communicate with a client yourself, because each customer wants to know more about the product itself and the deal before he makes the decision to buy the product for let’s say $990. To do this, he needs a little more time than if he would go to an online store, see a product for $100, and immediately purchase it.
I cannot say that I worked day and night. Over the years, I have been almost everywhere in Europe. I especially liked countries like Norway and France. I will seriously say that if you still did not visit Nice, then you have lived your life in vain!
Nice, Monaco, Montecarlo and Cannes are wonderful places where you can feel like in paradise, but what impressed me most was the excursion to the island, where a man in an iron mask was imprisoned.
The prison cell is a very small room with a bed and a table, but everything is under glass like museum exhibits.
According to historical sources, the man in the iron mask himself spent 34 years in this room and died in 1703, and until now no one knows who this man in the iron mask was.
I must tell you that having a rest is just a super feeling, but I had to return to my job once again. It was already 2017 and I wanted to find that profitable product again that would help me to have an incredible profit in my dropshipping business.
New products began to appear on the online market, but I did not like any of them. All products seemed to be new, but in general they repeated each other.
I tested different products and watched how customers react to them. I even managed to sell bicycles when the product itself did cost $200 and I managed to sell it for $470 and it seems that the profit was solid and the profit grew every month, but I wanted rapid growth to earn quick money.
2017: Bitcoins, spinners and bluetooth speakers…
Some of my friends bought and sold bitcoins and while talking with them, I began to realize that the time had come to buy miners that mine bitcoins, because the demand for these goods began to grow rapidly in 2017.
The price of bitcoin has been growing during 2017 and it reached almost $19,000 for 1 bitcoin by the end of the year.
Graphics cards like 1.5 Nvidia GTX 1070 and 1.6 Nvidia GTX 1060 sold out in just a couple of hours and my mailbox was full of requests to get as many new graphic cards as possible.
It was some kind of mass psychosis when people were ready to give back the last money to start mining cryptocurrency. Some of my friends were also a little obsessed with this. In fact, it was a kind of online gold rush.
In general, I myself once tried to trade at the stock market with and had sometimes success, but then I realized that such earnings are associated with a rather high risk and abandoned it.
There was another product that exploded the Internet market in 2017 and its name is spiner.
Spinners were invented a very long time ago, but only three years ago they went on mass sale. There are many different kinds of these toys. They are of different sizes and different configurations. There are also toys that cost more than one million dollars and are studded with diamonds, but they are more collectible goods, or they are displayed at various exhibitions as advertisements.
I did not like the idea of selling spinners as an independent product, but when I began to add them as a free gift to the main expensive products, people were more willing to buy expensive products together with a small bonus.
At the same time I was constantly learning how to build backlinks to all my online projects, including my online stores. You can study everything and know everything in terms of SEO, but building backlinks is actually one of the main factors when your site rises and gradually goes to the top Google for certain keywords.
Now we are moving smoothly into 2018 and see what I did exactly this year in terms of selling popular goods.
One of the products that appeared in 2018 is a portable bluetooth speaker.
There were very inexpensive portable speakers, but there were those whose price reached $600 – $700. The sound quality of music in expensive devices was excellent.
Even now, I remember how I posted on Facebook just a beautiful post that such a portable speaker is being sold and the demand was very high.
Along with such a portable speaker product, penny boards entered the market. It was a kind of mini-like skateboard for children and adolescents.
2020: My Steps to Blogging Success
In course of time, I sold some dropshipping businesses to invest in new online projects and one of them is this blog. I also continue advertising and promoting some of my online shops and they bring excellent returns. Together with my team, I created a long and profitable marketing chain in a dropshipping business.
You may ask me why I started this blog, if I am already successful in a dropshipping business? The answer is very simple, namely I want to reach new levels in my life and see what results I can achieve in the affiliate business by blogging.
I also want to help everyone who takes the first steps in the online business and does not know where to start. This blog will be useful for beginners, so for people who make their first steps in online entrepreneurship, but also for those who want to become an experienced Internet businessman soon.
